California Senate Bill SB742 to be voted on April 24, 2021, copy of the proposed law:
https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=2…
(If you have not viewed proposed laws before note…the legislature often takes a totally different law and rewrites it to fit the new situation.)
They are calling for people to write to the CA senators.Emergency status is being used to pass permanent laws to prohibit gathering in person to peacefully protest and voice opinions. If this proposed law passes in CA, it can be used as a template to pass in other states.
The proposed law takes away city and county rights and places the power with the state. The proposed law states that no protests can take place within 300 feet of vaccine sites. Currently in 2021, vaccine sites include and are expanding to athletic stadiums, sports arenas, hospitals, drug stores (like CVS, Walgreens, RiteAid), department stores like Target, Walmart, pop up sites (like parking lots of shopping centers, health centers, etc.
This means that if someone is standing in support of Black Lives Matter, Me Too, racial injustice or is protesting the use of pesticides & GMO’s, vaccines, or advocating recall of elected officials or protesting for free speech itself, it will become a crime to do so within 300 feet of vaccine site. Vaccine site locations are being expanded at a alarming rapid rate, at least in CA.
Senator Pan of CA is the sponsor of this bill. He was also the sponsor or a bill that unfortunately passed, eliminating medical, religious and other exemptions to the 72 vaccines required for children in CA under the age of 18 for public and private school entrance.

What a magical community Boulder is, and we at Pachamama Alliance stand in solidarity with you to rise in resiliency, with hope and deeper connection and with our hearts open with you and with the entire PA community. May we continue to rise to our best selves, strengthen our connection to each other and our beautiful community and planet.
