Author Sherri Miller joined Global Commons members to kick off a discussion group about her recent book, Sacred Instructions: Indigenous Wisdom for Living Spirit-Based Change.
She was invited to speak by Laurie Benson, who had generated interest in the book in the Earth-Based Wisdom Group. Antonio Aversano created the Sacred Instructions Community Discussion & Empowerment Group and organized 13 weekly meetings where members explored one chapter a week and deepened their relationship to the material together.
Kathleen Allen, a member of the discussion group, said that "it was, and is, a wonderful way to connect with others who share concern for the living world–to contribute to meaningful conversation around relevant issues, expanding horizons of awareness, enhancing all our lives as we learn from each other, and the subject matter we study."
The group's success inspired a second book discussion around Charles Eisenstein's Climate: A New Story. If there is a book that you would like to discuss with Global Commons members, mention it in the comments below!
