About the call

Discover the connection between understanding cosmic evolution and bringing forth a thriving, just, and sustainable world. One of the guiding principles at Pachamama Alliance is that people’s actions are correlated with how they see the world—the story they tell themselves about the world. Come hear a new story about the 13.7 billion year unfolding of the universe from Professor of Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness Brian Swimme and discover new actions based on the evolutionary cosmology from Brian’s Journey of the Universe, which draws together scientific discoveries in astronomy, geology, and biology with humanistic insights concerning the nature of the universe.

About the speaker

Brian Swimme is Director of the Center for the Story of the Universe at the California Institute of Integral Studies. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Mathematics at the University of Oregon in 1978 for work in gravitational dynamics and brings the context of story to our understanding of the trajectory of the universe. In order to communicate the story of the universe and assist in the emergence of a flourishing Earth community, Brian writes books, creates educational video series, lectures widely, and co-wrote and hosted the award winning film Journey of the Universe.
