  • Hello. I'm looking forward to getting trained and working with this group!

  • Another great Drawdown presentation yesterday, in Fairfax, VA. Galen Tromble attended and Robin Galbraith helped me present. There were 56 people there, from VA and MD. It was organized by the UU Church of Fairfax and the Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions, with about 5 other co-sponsors.

Mary Pike, who used to make numerous ATD presentations was also there. I hope many of you will take the Drawdown Intro and then consider becoming DD Presenters. Let me know if you want me to invite you to an upcoming presentation in MD or VA. (SimplicityGroupsMD@gmail.com)

Galen Tromble mentioned he might circulate a "DOODLE" to determine when we might be able to join together, via "Zoom Chat". It would be great to meet all of you, virtually.

  • Carl_Benson did a great job organizing this Intro Workshop in Annapolis on Jan 17. Despite the snow, there were 21 people in attendance. This was the second Intro, the first one taking place last Sept. We may have enough people to start a 5-session "Getting Into Action" group. Thanks to Robin Galbraith as my co-presenter.

  • Hey, DC members! Next Friday the 18th there will be the first-ever Indigenous Peoples March happening outside the Department of the Interior. Hope anyone who is able to take part can come together to raise awareness about preserving the rights of indigenous peoples!

  • DC Metro Pachamamans:
I lead a monthly yoga and climate change session. For January it will be on Sunday, Jan 20 from 3-5 pm at Willow Street Yoga in Silver Spring. No yoga experience needed. More details and sign up on Eventbrite:

  • Pachamama Friends:

I wanted you to know that there are two upcoming opportunities for folks to attend a Drawdown Intro Workshop (2 hrs). This would be a great way for us to meet each other. Also, since most of you have training in Awakening the Dreamer and Game Changer Intensive (but not Drawdown), this would be a great way for you to get a "taste", to see if you want to be trained as a facilitator.

[Not to mention, I am still looking for a few brave souls who would like to partner with me, as the demand for workshops and 5-session Action Groups continues to grow, smiles]

One of the workshops is in Annapolis MD, while the other is in Fairfax VA [There will be another workshop in Rockville on March 17; I will get you the details for that one later]. Hopefully one of these locations is close to you.

Please see details below. Each blurb includes a link (Eventbrite or Action Network) to RSVP. [I just noticed that Carl Benson already posted the first event, below]

Hope you can make it and feel free to invite friends.

If you have friends who are interested but cannot make these dates or locations, please let me know. I can put them on my "list for future workshops".

    Thanks,
    Lore Rosenthal

Pachamama's Drawdown Project gives us hope! Project Drawdown is a coalition of more than 200 researchers and other experts from 22 countries led by author, environmentalist, and entrepreneur Paul Hawken. Over the course of 5 years of rigorous scientific research, they identified and modeled the 100 most substantive, already existing solutions for addressing global warming and revealed astounding news: that it is possible not just to slow global warming, but to actually reverse it by 2050.

Join the Climate Stewards of Greater Annapolis for a two hour workshop, "Reversing Global Warming: Introduction to Drawdown". The workshop material is provided by the Pachamama Alliance and includes video clips of Paul Hawken. The presenter will be Lore Rosenthal, a volunteer with the Pachamama Alliance. Please be prompt.
