Pachamama Alliance of Rochester NY participated in two Climate Strike activities. On Sept. 22, we were part of an interfaith tree planting walk, sponsored by Rochester Area Interfaith Climate Action, of which Pachamama Alliance Rochester is a member. We walked to and planted trees on the grounds of a mosque, synagogue, Protestant church, and Roman Catholic school. The atmosphere was quite joyful.
On Sept. 27, we were part of a coalition that planned a Climate Strike march in downtown Rochester, presenting demands for stronger, faster climate action at our City Hall, county building, federal building, and regional utility company. There was a large turnout of old, young and in-between pushing for a sustainable future.
