Hi everyone, I am new to this group and to Southern Oregon. I've been doing a lot of reading and thinking about the climate crisis for the past several years and have been hungry for a framework for action and communications strategies for building consensus and mobilization.
I recently attended the intro to Drawdown workshop in Ashland and have been reading the Drawdown book and exploring the website. I feel that Drawdown offers a very powerful platform from which to work, and I am anxious to learn more about what's happening locally to move these ideas forward. If there are any get-togethers or events of this group or other local organizations working to address climate crisis or implement Drawdown in this region, I'd love to be involved. Or, if anyone is willing to spend time with me in person or on the phone to help orient me to the current status of community organizing around this issue, I would be very grateful. I am getting involved with the Southern Oregon Climate Action Now (SOCAN), which seems like a really great organization.
I hope to hear from you and look forward to working with you.
