You are invited to attend what I believe is the first Introduction to Drawdown session to be presented in Boulder County. This program is the result of Pachamama Alliance's collaboration with Paul Hawkens and his book "Drawdown" and has already been delivered in several countries and around the United States.
Drawdown Offers a Message of Hope Around Global Warming
Drawdown is defined as the point in time when the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere peaks and begins to decline year after year. In pursuit of that goal, Paul Hawken and a coalition of over 200 contributors from 22 countries set out to identify, measure, and model the 100 most impactful technological, ecological, and behavioral solutions to global warming, and they recently published a book with their findings. The solutions might surprise you!
Come to this event if you want to learn more about the idea of Drawdown, to see what you can do to help, and to connect with other like-minded people interested in building community around these and similar issues. This is an introduction to the concepts, and we will then discuss plans for when to hold the follow-up 7-week in-person course. Please bring a notebook and writing utensil.
Prior to this event, we will be presenting an Awakening the Dreamer Symposium in the same location at 10am, and you can find the details here: https://connect.pachamama.org/node/1114 Feel free to attend either one or both events.
Please note the updated time of 6:30pm. (It was originally scheduled for 4:30pm). We greatly appreciate the Hampton Inn for donating the use of the first floor meeting room space to us! Coffee, tea, and water will be provided, but feel free to bring your own water bottle, cup or mug if you'd prefer not to use a one-time use container.
This event is offered for free, and love donations will be accepted.
