Sometimes when Tyranny threatens, voices and votes are insufficient. Even voicing discontent can be a death sentence. I encourage you to listen to today's program on Cspan. "Human Rights Sanctions and Protecting Journalists" FEBRUARY 11, 2019 Lawmakers, former State Department officials and journalists discuss the use of human rights sanctions to protect journalists at a National Press Club event in Washington, DC.

FYI: Democracy has multiple flaws. History's record of failed democracies suggests they all had one thing in common. Each democracy thought it was going to save the peace and prosperity . Unfortunately, Democracy is only ONE of the three essential elements of any effective and sustainable government. The other two (according to Supreme Court Justice Kennedy is "laws that are applied equally to all" [justice for all] and 'laws with the primary purpose of protecting inalienable human rights'. As far as I know there is no 'one' word that includes all three of these essential elements. But there IS one phrase. "The Rule of law". Unless we can convince the world to agree on the definition of democracy being the equivalent of Kennedy's assertion about the "rule of law" I highly recommend you/PA stop trying to 'save democracy.' Thomas Jefferson defined democracy as "Two wolves and a Lamb deciding what to have for lunch. Freedom is a well armed lamb contesting the vote". I have dozens of other similar democracy quotes wise souls have said over the past few centuries...if you are interested.
