One of the things that impresses me about Bobby Austin is the way he balances spiritual awareness and social activism.

Without spiritual awareness, an individual might live the illusion of separateness and have a sense that he or she is separate from everything in the world.

Without social activism, or at least social awareness, an individual might practice a kind of spiritual bypass, where the problems in the world have nothing to do with them.

Not only does Austin and his work balance these tendencies, he also realizes that engaging in inner work is the best starting point for practicing social activism.

In Saturday's 11am ET Sacred Inclusion Network exploration, he'll help each of us engage in the process of self-examination that's key to what he calls the path of Social Kinship.

This is a tree planting event on 8/10/21 with the youths of Oyunga Community in Homabay County. We planted fruit trees [mango and avocado] and grandis eucalyptus specie.

Tree planting day on 15th last week at Obondi Primary School 95km away from home. The school borders Lake Victoria. We planted with them 500 grevillea seedlings.

I would like to invite you all to the Oct 11-15th People vs. Fossil Fuels Action in Washington DC.

This action is organized by Build Back Fossil Free, and is important because we will be asking Biden/Harris Administration to:

1) Stop all new fossil fuel infrastructure projects, and

2) Declare a climate emergency and put people to work building sustainable energy projects, and clean up environmental messes in BIPOC neighborhoods.

It's time to act!

I am heading up a contingent called Yogis4ClimateJustice, which will be hooking in with a larger group called Green Faith. https://greenfaith.org/

This organization is a group of people of different faiths coming together to stand together for climate justice, and are also part of Build Back Fossil Free. Anyone can join us, and I will guide you through the process if you are new to this kind of action. We will show up with love and inner strength and courage.

All you need to do is get to DC and find a place to stay.

Yogis4ClimateJustice and Green Faith will be showing up on the evening of Oct 10th, and will take part in protests and civil disobedience on Monday-Wednesday. There is training for non-violent civil disobedience every evening, and people can choose whether they want to participate in the protests or whether they want to participate in the civil disobedience actions.

Monday is Indigenous People's Day, and that day's action will be lead by Indigenous leaders from around the country who are on the frontlines of protests to stop fossil fuel and other environmentally damaging projects.

Tuesday, clergy from around the country will participate in civil disobedience with our support.

And Wednesday, those who are ready can participate in civil disobedience, taking a stand for the earth and all of us!

There are actions on Thursday and Friday as well, however the Green Faith and Yogis4ClimateJustice will not be formally participating. Of course you can still participate in these actions if you wish.

You can choose 1 day to show up or multiple days.

I was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico where my father was a Professor at the University of P.R. in Rio Piedras. From my Mother's side of the family, I have relatives in Mexico, Guatemala and Venezuela which afforded me, early in life, the opportunity to travel and in fact, to live in each of those countries.

From those early experiences, I developed the love for travel. After completing my education, I had the fortune to travel throughout the Caribbean, Central and South America as well as South East Asia, Europe and some countries in Northen Africa, bordering the Mediterranean.
